Honey is really poorly :(

The vet thinks she has an infection which might be why she went into hibernation. He gave her an injection and i've got antibiotics to give her with a syringe. he said if she gets worse to take her in on saturday, if she says the same monday. All she wants to do is sleep. I'm just trying to keep her warm and comfortable and talk to her and reassure her I'm here and i love her.

I'm sorry to hear that Pinkprincess. I am glad you saw they vet as she did not sound to be coming around as you would expect earlier.
I hope the meds help her. Try and keep her hydrated by offering water both in a bowl and in a spoon or syringe to her mouth. Also tempt her to keep eating with babyfood and porridge.
It usually takes a few days for the meds to kick in. Healing vibes coming Honeys way x

I have been so upset since we got back from the vets, I've been crying my eyes out. The vet hinted that if she doesn't get better in a few days she may have to be PTS :'(

I know how hard that is Pinkprincess when you feel so helpless and you so, so want to make it better. Did he say where the infection was at all? Was it the chest?
I am thinking of you now. Know that Honey trusts you to do the right thing for her whatever happens and she knows how much loved she is. Try and be positive and let her feel your love without the sadness. Hard I know *Hugs to you and gentle ones for Honey*

He seemed to think it was her tummy area. I just hate the thought of her being in pain. He said she didn't seem to be in pain as she didn't flinch or squeak when he was touching her and she's eating. She won't go to her food bowl but I've been spoon feeding her ready brek and she's been eating it which he said is a good sign. People don't seem to understand why I'm so upset because she is "just a hamster" which infuriates me. Someone at work actually said to me today "you know, if I didn't know what pet you had, to hear you talk you would think it was a dog". Whatever that means. Perhaps it would be acceptable for me to be upset if she was a dog?
