Is there nothing coming through him moonstream?
If he is not passing anything it sounds as if there is a twist in his bowel or a blockage. This can often follow diarrhoea and I'm so sorry but this cannot be cured as the bowel is so tiny. He needs taken back and if there is a twist then it would be kindest to help him on his path to the bridge because it is not going to be curable. You have tried very hard for him x

he doesnt look any messier, and there doesnt appear to be any solid poops...

if he doesnt look any better tomorrow when I get home from school, I think I may make an appointment to help him on his way to the bridge.

I just dont see him pulling through this

What age is he Moonstream? Is he under 12 weeks old? If he is and he came from a pet store/shop, he could have been stressed by this and his gut has been attacked by this stress. Hamsters under 12 weeks of age are more prone to wet-tail and need Baytril, which you already have.

Stick to feeding a good dry mix and don`t offer him any fruit or veg. You can offer a small amount of pro-biotic yoghurt if he wants to lick this off the back of a spoon, but while he`s on antibiotics, this is likely to kill the good bacteria aswell as the bad, but a little plain or flavoured pro-biotic yoghurt will keep him interested in eating.

Keep him warm, make sure he`s drinking (lower his water bottle and also offer a solid/heavy drinking bowl) if you feel it`s needed. Leave him to sleep and try not to handle him too much unless you are administering his medication.

He may just need time to recover. Lets hope so anyway. x

I took him back to the vet because he was starting to get worse and wouldnt eat anything I tried to offer him. they gave him some fluids which seem to have perked him up a bit. they also gave me some oxbow brand nutritional food; you mix it with water to create a sort of past and I've been giving that to him via a syringe every few hours. I also picked up pedialite to give him if he starts to act dehydrated.

I have to force feed him with a syringe otherwise he wont eat and he hasnt been drinking enough water to get him by, either.

he started nibbling at his own food again, though. and ran on his wheel a little. I moved him into an (empty) aquarium to help keep drafts from being such a problem, and moved him upstairs. its slightly less quiet up there, but its less drafty/warmer.

Would this mixture be called critical care? I use it for chinchillas. It's nasty smelling stuff
