...but its not all bad news!
I decided to take him after noticing he had a very bad limp and he kept holding up his back left leg up. I also thought I would get the bald patch checked out on his bottom.
The vet checked him over in a rather funny way. After spending 10 minutes trying to catch him she decided that she wouldn't be doing that a second time... and put him in her pocket whilst getting his medication XD
The bad leg luckily isn't broken, but it is badly sprained so he needs to rest it. We figured he did it when the woman at P@H got him out of his tank and dropped him 2ft onto the top of a rabbit cage!
So the vet gave him an injection of painkillers (I saw him cringe as she injected it the poor mite) and he needs to go back in two weeks for more painkillers and a check-up. Until then his wheel is gone and so is his shelf so we don't risk him jumping off of it.
As for the bald bum, the vet suspected mites so he has had a dose of 'mite killer' and I have to give him one drop from a syringe everyday directly into his mouth. I have changed his bedding/substrate and disinfected his cage and I want to move him onto shredded paper substrate asap. Hopefully by the time he goes back for his check-up his fluff will have started growing back.
All in all it only cost me £22 so its not too bad but I'm glad I got him checked out, now I have a settled mind and he should be on his way to recovery in no time.
Here's a picture for you all to enjoy while he gets better.
