Poorly Izu
So yesterday morning (literally like I had to take my Izzy in to see the vet, which he didn't actually seem bothered with this time, because he was making a sort of squeaky noise constantly and not really chirping like usual. So it turns out he has a respiratory infection and I'm keeping him in a bin cage in the study for now just to give him a bit of peace and so I can keep an eye on him more.
He's good with baytril and stuff but the only thing I want to know is...Is there any way to make him more comfortable? He seems so down and yesterday night, when I had him out, he just slept on my lap. I hate seeing him like this.

Re: Poorly Izu
Aww, poor white fluffbum. It's good you caught it and now he's getting medication. I hope he gets on the mend soon. I'm not sure what else can be done - I'm sure you're keeping him warm, with easy to eat food etc.

Re: Poorly Izu
*hugs* for Izu. Maybe some mushy banana would make him happy and give him a bit more energy?

Re: Poorly Izu
Poor baby, I'm sorry he's feeling poorly. I wish I had a bit of advice for you but I don't really know.. Only to keep him warm and hydrated..

Re: Poorly Izu
I only caught it because I realised that I hadn't heard him all night so I was sort of worried.
He's on porridge so I'll mix some mushy banana into it. I had no idea how to make the stuff myself so my housemate had to show me. I feel really useless and so sorry for him. He's never been so quiet.

Re: Poorly Izu
try not to worry; he's on his meds, and i suppose like us they need more rest when poorly; i bet you have already checked hamsterlopaedia; it says keep him in a constant temperature room, and given plenty fluids, hope he's back to his chirpy self soon xx
