Exclamation Oh no, sniffly hamster!

I think that I may have passed on my cold to Thistle and possibly to one of my roborovskis too!
I know that hamsters are suseptable to human colds and avoided being too close to my babies these last couple of days but I woke in the night to hear Thistle sniffling and squeeking and this morning she obviously isnt feeling great since she is refusing to come out and play. I also havent seen cookie very much these last 2 days, my cold has pretty much gone now so I fetched him from his cage to check on him and he looks a little weepy, Im hoping that its just because I woke him up.
I'm hoping since it wasnt a really bad cold (the worst lasted abut 3/4hours) that they will be ok by the morning. If not I will take them down to the vets on Friday.
Is there anything anyone can suggest to help them get better? I dont even know what to do for a human cold I usually just get on with things and wait until it goes but I know my hammies wont have such a strong immune system.

Helpies!

Poor hammies, i keep my fingers crossed for them and hope they will get well soon D:
Sniffling can be a symptom of a tiny piece of bedding sticking in the nose sometimes (just want to mention that possibility).
If it's a cold- maybe you can offer them cold chamomile or fennel tea ;D

I did wonder about the bedding causing her to sniffle at first but then she has had no problems with it her whole life and it also wouldnt explain her lack of energy and lol well she does enjoy dip her head into the cold dregs of the coffee pot

I too had worried that I gave my babies my cold last weekend. The advice was to watch them, wipe their noses if they need it, put some fresh thyme around the cage and if they are really stuff to use the Vicks type stuff on the lid near wear they sleep [making sure they cannot reach the gooey stuff]. And if it sounds like they are getting worse, to take them to the vet. There is no medicine for virus, but if it turns to pneumonia, then an antibiotic may be necessary.

Lucky for me, the babies were fine. Two of them still make weird sounds when they are sleeping sometimes, but are rambunctious and eat/drink fine.

Thank you very much auntieAnnie I'll try out putting thyme around their cages and keep a close eye on them Ive just managed to persuade Thistle to come out and have a drink (she drank loooads) but she wouldn't eat anything Since Cookie is 100% nocturnal I wont be able to check him properly again until tonight.
I'll let you know what they are like in the morning
