sudden death in young hamsters

Our Hamster died suddenly-Rosie was 8 months old-and possibly the most placid hamster i have ever known, she showed no illness,no signs at all leading up to her death and this mystified us, as she was well looked after-she truly was a part of our family-and will sadly be missed RIP Rosie.

I am sorry to hear of your loss Johnson family
As said in the original post it does seem that there are some internal abnormalities in some animals that just give out very suddenly - a bit like sudden adult death syndrome. Often there is something like a faulty heart valve that is the cause of the sudden death.

We found our young syrian hamster Buddy dead in his bed tonight while cleaning him out My little ones are heartbroken Pleased to know its nothing i've done

I'm sorry that you too have suffered a sudden loss of a young hamster MB.
It really is unlikely to be anything you did but probably. as above, that the youngster had some fault it was born with that led to it dying young.
