Re: Emergency hamster cut!!
do your vets not have out of hours services, most do and the wounds you describe sound pretty bad x

Re: Emergency hamster cut!!
i think vets in the states are very different to over here, most of them dont really care about anything smaller then a cat either...
having said that she really does need to see a vet, and bandaids really shouldnt be used on hamsters, did the corn starch manage to stem the bleeding?
shes also probably in a lot of pain and is going to need metacam (pain relife) and depending on the severity of the cuts it may be advisable to start her on a precautionary course of antibiotics

Re: Emergency hamster cut!!
if she had glass cuts they may need glued together and if you are administering antibiotic you have to weigh her and get the dosage correct :s i find it a little hard to belive that even in the states they do not have out of hours services :s

Re: Emergency hamster cut!!
i would not use antibiotics a pet store sells, they will not be effective, effective antibiotics are only available by prescription even in the states
there will be a vets open somewhere, you really need to find one, you need to be prepared for when things like this happen
