please help I think my Syrian hamster woody has crushing's disease. hes 1 year and a half and a few weeks ago he started losing patches of hair. he has lost some on his face and a line down his back. also his skin is really flaky and is just coming if like big pieces of dandruff. he is drinking a lot and has lost some wait. is there any think I could do to help him if he does have crushing's disease,

Looking at this I really think this is sadly what my gorgeous Galaxy has =(
She is being treated for mites but noticed no difference after first treatment.
Her mouth drops open quite a lot, she sleeps a lot but still LOVES coming out, her skin is flaky and red. She also has black pigment marks on her skin.

My daughter's Syrian Cadbury was diagnosed with Cushing's today. She hasn't noticed anything wrong with him but I noticed the hairloss and black marks on his back. Feeling very sad that he might not have much time left, he's only about 8 months old, poor thing.

so, I'm a new hamstie mom, and I just read this thread and got really freaked out. I have a sable long haired Syrian, does this mean he is pretty much going to develop this?

No chunksmum absolutely not. It is really not that common at all considering the number of sables born and the percentage that develop Cushings. Like any illness if it happens it happens and you will cope at the time however the chances are much much higher that he will never develop Cushings ever.
