Joey's cut her eye
Last night i went to check on Joey and noticed she had blood all around her eye and her face was swollen on that side. my poor lil girl i have no idea how she did this, i can only think she was monkey barring and fell and hit her face.
Well this morning i checked on her and shes still her normal self, shes cleaned all the blood and you can see a tiny cut just under her eye. The swelling seems to have clamed down alot too.
Im thinking that maybe she doesnt need to see a vet since there has been such a big improvement, where's last night i was sure she would need a vets appointment today.
Am i thinking the right thing, thinking she will be ok not seeing a vet or should i book her in for a quick check over???

Re: Joey's cut her eye
Outch,poor hammie. I would visit the vet too ;O;
And maybe it would be good to think about a tank or zoozone or gabber rex, where the hammie isn't able to climb at the top. Or did you look after other sharp things in the cage which may caused the wound?

Re: Joey's cut her eye
Thanks for the replies!
It wasnt to nice to see, my poor girl, she looked like she had been in a fight and where shes white it made the cut look worse then what it actually is.
I will see if i can get her an appointment today.
I was thinking about putting her in a zoozone as she does like to bar chew.

Re: Joey's cut her eye
I'd give her a day or so unless it flares up.
Cuts normally heal pretty quickly without any medication. Watch for any swelling of either eye or cut area or any weeping and take her right away if this happens.
They can do these things quite easily.

Re: Joey's cut her eye
Oh dear poor girly
I second the above, cuts tend to heal alright on their own, but take her if it gets worse x
