Default Poorly hamster?

HI, My little Daisy - a 1 1/2 year old syrian has suddenly got a dirty bottom. She is eating and drinking a little (not as much as normal), is passing normal droppings and wee.
I will be calling the vet tomorrow but just wondered if anyone had any advice.
She has been quite active and her ears are up as normal.

I cleaned her bottom and it is dirty again - but its puzzling me because she has normal hard droppings?

Thanks.

Sounds similar to what my little girl Daisy is going through. Its possible that the dirtyness is from her lady parts and not her anus. Girl hammies can get infections of the womb which can cause discharge. A urine infection might be possible too which can cause a wet bottom. A trip to the vets is the best bet. Hope it goes well

Thank you. Unfortunately couldn't get an appointment at the vets today but have one for tomorrow. She was still perky when I woke her this morning to check on her and she ate the little piece of cucumber I gave her. She is still eating and drinking a little.

Well we have been to the vets. The vet had a good look at her and said that it is probably an infection in her uterus, but she is not swollen underneath so thats a good sign? The vet has given me baytril. She thought she was quite alert and active today and a good size so hopefully the antibiotics will help. I just hope she starts to improve a bit and eating properly again. She's such a gorgeous hamster and its just so sad when they are not well.

She sounds like shes doing very well
My little robo girl had a Urine tract infection twice and recovered at over 2 years of age, so they are real fighters!

Best regards to Daisy x
