Default New hammie not well :(

Hi, I got my 12 week old female syrian 8 days ago, and this evening I noticed that her tail appeared wet.
She looked absolutely fine yesterday, she's had no wet food except for a couple of small banana pieces a few days ago, and her cage is clean.
She looks fine in herself - bright eyes, walking about normally, not hunched up, eating and drinking normally(on another note, i think she might be drinking a lot). Me and my partner got her out earlier and cleaned her bottom with warm water and cotton wool, then dried her (which wasn't easy seeing as she's not very hand-tame yet :S ). The cotton wool seemed mostly clean after cleaning her and her bottom/tail didn't look particularly dirty, just wet. I changed her bedding after we cleaned her too.
I'm absolutely terrified that she's got wet-tail. I'm going to get her checked out at the vets tomorrow, but in the meantime does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? It's so strange because, aside from the obvious, she's looking and acting perfectly healthily..

It doesn't sound like wet tail as you can normally smell this and it is definite diorrhoea.
It could be the sticky mucous discharge from her 4 day cycle. Sometimes it can make them look a bit wet back there or she may have wee'd and sat in it.
I would check her daily but if you see normal poos then it would likely be just her female discharge. If this becomes profuse, blood stained, dark coloured or bad smelling rather than the musky female smell when she is in season then she needs to see the vet but a little wetness is normal.

Thank you so much for responding so fast! This is my first hammie and apparently i'm a bit of neurotic owner ;P I'll keep an eye on her but the discharge thing seems much more likely (and reassuring for me!)
Many thanks again
