I think hamsters are similar to rats in that their bottom jaw does not fuse completely - they have cartilage connecting the two halves rather than bone. This means the bottom teeth can move slightly apart from each other, in a V shape - they can adjust the angle to help them gnaw more efficiently. So i wouldn't worry about it if the length is ok, sounds normal to me

if they are white it indicates a problem. They have a different type of enamel from us, because their teeth grow constantly.
