Default Shut Eye

My little hamster Chloe is still with us, but has taken another turn for the worst. After going through an operation and now having kidney problems, she now has one eye that looks sealed shut.
We are wondering about dabbing it with boiled, but cooled water or we have some old Baydril. How long does it last, is it worth starting her off on this.
We can't get to the vets until saturday or at a push tomorrow evening after 6ish.

Idea guys!

I would try bathing it open gently. Under the weather hamsters and older hammy's often have sticky eyes. Sometimes they groom them open themselves but Baytril wont help a sticky eye. It is normally a symptom of an ill hamster.
Is she eating and drinking? It depends on the Baytril age, type and whether it was diluted or not as to whether you can use it still.
I would not restart it without seeing a vet as you don't really know what the root problem is really.
Sorry to hear she is poorly

She is eating, though seems a touch unsteady on her feet. She is drinking lots and lots, but has been since christmas. The vet said just see how that goes as long as she is eating and peeing.
I'll try and take her if it does open and we bath it. She is less activity, never playing and not spending time in her wheel, but she's 2 years and 7 months old. Old I guess for a winter white.

That is an amazing age for a WW.
You must have cared for her amazingly well It may be old age or she may be nearing her time to be called missberry. I hope she feels comfy for a good while longer xx

I know she seems quite creaky and I miss playing, but we keep her clean, give her nice treats.

Well, the worst happened. I got home from work, keen to check on her before we went to the vets and she didn't come out of her house and didn't move at all. Even when in the car.
It turns out the eye infection was just due to being run down. She had a mass in her tummy or near there. She took a turn for the worst so quick, last night she was walking round and today could hold her back legs up and seemed not to have bladder control. So sad, she looked so skinny and really poorly.

The vet said putting her to sleep was for the best, I can see that but it all feels like my fault.

I will miss her so much, I don't think the vet was prepared for all my tears.

I'm so sorry verymissberry. You cared for so well and you let her go when you needed to; she must have known how much you loved her.

Shes done so well and been a real fighter
I'm sorry to hear she went downhill so quickly, but I don't think she could have had a happier life.
I hope she is at peace and restored to full health at the bridge xx
