It is possible he could have an allergy. Is there any nasal discharge or other symptoms. He could have a cold which can be nasty in hamsters. Try changing the bedding to just sheets of kitchen roll and see if that helps otherwise it would be best to see the vet as he may need antibiotics if he has a chest infection.

Hey,

I had the same situation with my hamster (Olive) the other week. She would not stop sneezing and her nose seemed sore, so I took her straight to the vets. They gave me some antibiotics for her water, and I took her wheel out of her cage so she got complete rest for a few days. They told me to take her in incase it was a respiratory infection, because she was also making noises; turns out she was just snoring. But she had caught a cold because my household all had one- while I was away at uni my mam was taking care of her. But now she is back to full health, I made sure I put her on proC probiotic after the meds so she was balanced out. She has returned to being a naughty little hammy, but I wouldn't have her any other way

Hope this helped a little.
