Eye Tumour Advice :(

Cutting a long story short My little male Syrian Beppe has always had sticky eye problems for about 6months. Over the last 2weeks it has got alot worse. One morning i woke up to find a green/yellow hard scab like thing over his eye and a massive swelling (Almost like he was being squeezed and his eye was bulging out. He couldnt close it at all.) I soaked it off with Sterile water and it was okies till about half hour later and it was all manky again. I took him to the vets who said it could be a number of things ontop of a bad eye infection. She gave me Fluxy thingy drops and also Baytril orally. I did this everyday as per directions and the swelling to me did look like it was going down. His eye still seemed quite crusty tho. I took him back yesterday as they asked me to a week later for a check up. I saw a different vet to the 1st time and says to me that it's definately a tumour behind his eye or an abscess at the top of his teeth(he did have trouble getting something out of his pouch not so long ago either..)Anyways she said there is nothing they can do now. Apart from give me artifical tears to stop the crustyness. She said if you look down above him on to the top of his head his right eye looks more forward than the left...i can't personally see this..but then i'm not a vet. They won't operate as he's quite old (Year and half) and something about blood vessells behind his eye make it a tough operation. He is stil quite active, not eating as much as usual because he has lost some weight and not pooing as much, but still drinking well. I asked about life expectency and she said couple of weeks/months max..really what i'm asking is has this happened to anyone? All thoughts and responses are appreciated. All I want is the best for Beppe. He doesnt seem to be in pain as he lets me touch his eye etc
