Cold, sluggish WW, clicky breathing (seems better now she's warmed up?)
I just went to clean out my Winter White and she didn't come out to see what was going on like she normally would, when I opened her house hr eyes were almost closed and she didn't move, she was struggling to breath and sort of gasping and when I picked her up she was freezing cold, floppy and mostly unresponsive.
I've put her next to the radiator and she has perked up a bit, but still seems very wobbly and is gasping a little (although not as bad as she was).
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Could she have been hibernating? I didn't think dwarf breeds did? She's very podgy, so I've been cutting down on her food, and since my house mates have flu they've got the heating up silly high and I had my window open... I didn't think anything of it at the time but she was so cold...
She's perked up even more now as I've been typing this so I think she'll be ok, just, can anyone shed any light on this? She's being moved to another room away from the open window now for definite!

She sounds ill Caisu. Once a hamster fails to maintain temperature if can be hard for them to get better. Use your body heat to warm her and I would suggest a vet visit because the clicky breathing is not normal and may be a chest infection not is the 'podgyness' which may not be fat but retained fluid due to heart failure or some other issue or even a tumour inside her making her look fat.
Hope she is better soon.

Re: Cold, sluggish WW, clicky breathing (seems better now she's warmed up?)
She looked like she was going to die. But she's been sat next to the radiator for 10-15mins now and is mostly back to normal. (Body heat doesn't work from me cause my hands are freezing!) She's not gasping or clicking anymore; it looked like severe late-stage pneumonia, but came on very quickly and is gone now that she's warmed up again. She had no signs of anything being wrong before, and is almost completely better now... so all I can think is that she was just suffering from being sat under an open window... She's scuffling about in a carrier now, back to her normal self, breathing normal, hissing and glaring at me for trying to pick her up and make sure she's ok! She's got no other physical signs of being ill, but I'll keep a very close eye on her and if she deteriorates again I'll take her straight to the vets.

Thought you might like to know she's still fine, just checked on her again and found her handing off the roof of the cage, chewing bars! All is good...
