He's had a lump come up on his back now that he's obviously been chewing round as there's blood round it. It's clean thank goodness, but he looks so rough. My worry is that he's in pain or suffering at all. He seems well in himself, but id so much weaker. My vet opens on Tuesday to we'll be there then.

Pffffffff I just don't know what the best thing to do for him is . We went back to the vet, she thinks he's still got an infection and needs more antibiotics to clear it. So he's having another dose of Baytril, and he's had a steroid injection. Poor little thing, he hated it.

Yesterday he seemed a little better, and I didn't see any new blood so I was really hopeful things were improving. Today I go up having got all the babies out for a run about, and there is more blood that I've seen before, and he looks terrrible.

On the positive side he still seems fine in himself, he's spinning away and climbing about in his home. That's about it though , he's down to 15g which is half his body weight gone. He is eating as normal though, and drinking too. I've upped his protein foods and his good fats food aswell, so I don't know why he's so tiny. He can't seem to be able to roll in his sandbath either, it's one of his favorite things to do usually, but he's not doing it anymore. It stopped about the same time the bleeding started, so my guess is that there is something that makes him uncomfortable when he rolls. He does groom, but of course he's looking quite greasy now. The strange lump on his back seems to look better though so that's something.

My poor boy, he doesn't seem like he's struggling, but I can't help thinking he must be. I don't know what he needs or what to do for him, and it makes me feel terrible

Aww I am sorry, poor little thing. The vet didnt think that there was anything else underlying? It sounds like more han just an infection to me.

I hope that the steroid injection and course of baytril begin to help him, at least he seems ok in himself too - still doing hamstery things.

She said he's all swollen and she can feel a lump round his bits, but she thought that was the infection. I'm wondering if he might have had a tumour growing for a while now that's just been getting bigger and is causing him more and more problems.

On a lighter note, she said she could feel another lump just behind his ear, I paniced and thought oh god it's just spreading. At which point Jam who wasn't enjoying his examination too much, emptied his pouches and out came a nut. Lump gone!

It could be tumour, poor little mite, I just hope that the meds keep him happy and comfortable for as long as possible.
