Default Swollen rear?

I just got Sausage out for a proper cuddle and noticed that his rear end/testicle area look really swollen. His testicles were out (if you know what i mean?) but the area between them and his body is really swollen and I'm not sure that its normal

It feels really wobbly as if it could have fluid in it but it was the first time I've had him out properly in a few days so I don't know if maybe he's just hot tonight (he's in quite a warm room and the heating has been on) or if he maybe has some sort of swelling/tumor?

Obviously I will keep an eye on him but I just wondered if anyone has had any similar experiences or might know why his back end is so swollen?

Also I should mention that he is a reasonably old hammy.... he's coming up to 2 years old now. I haven't noticed any difference in his behaviour recently other than the fact he seems to be a bit less active and sleeps more but I have put that down to old age as its something that has happened gradually over time.

I just went in and gave the hammies some warm baby food and it still seemed the same as yesterday but I can't tell if its normal or not... I have had a look online and I can't find anything that it could be as testicular tumors would be hard and if it was something to do with constipation i would expect his stomach to be swollen rather than the area between his body and testicles.

I hope he is ok too!

It could be a cyst with fluid in it. Is he weeing OK? The bladder can get overfull if there is a partial blockage. There could also be some sort of prolapse into the scrotum.
As long as he is behaving normally he sounds OK. Watch him closely though and if anything changes like bruising / blueness/ straining to wee etc then have him checked by the vet.

He wees loads (always has done compared to my other syrian - I don't know why) so I don't think it could be that. I had a look at him last night before I went to bed and I think it could actually be because his fur is thinning that it looked swollen? I am going to keep an eye on him but I think (and hope) it was just me imagining it!
