Re: I can't wake my baby up
Nat darling you don't deserve this!
I really hope pumpkin can pull through all this
But remember if he leaves you he'll be at peace then, if you really feel hes suffering please take him to the vet.
He couldn't have a better mummy, tell him you love him and let him know its ok to go if he needs to
all the love in the world to you both xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: I can't wake my baby up
Hey guys, thanks for everything, as usual.
I had to go to bed, ive been quite ill this week, im getting over it but i havnt been near the hams all week so the thought of losing him when i hadnt seen him was horrible.
Im not sure what to say really...hes still with us...appears normal.
I took all the things out his cage apart from his bed and water and food. I blasted the heating on in my house, it didn't feel too nippy but just in case.
Around 6.30am my bf had to leave for work, i rubbed pumpking and his eyes opened and he filled his pouches and started running round like normal. So i moved him up to bed. I havnt really slept, hes been out and drank..eaten more and just got him out and he seemed like a normal sleepy ham.
Im not sure he had a stroke..his legs were moving even when he was limp...im pretty sure it was hibernation..although ive not had a ham go that deep before. what does everyone think?
Also are their top teeth meant to be black?
I was ready to accept he was passing last night, why i sat with him stroking his little head in my hands so of course if he is in pain i will try ease it..just this one is a real puzzler to me. He'll be coming to yer old about now.
also had a nice view of hammy parts....was...interesting..lol
oh if he does leave me today at least he showed me some gratitude..just now i gave him a seed and he threw a piece of poo at me!
xxxx

yeh im not breathing out yet...im half expecting his to go tonight. My sisters ham came out of hibernation and drifted back.
It was just hiis top teeth that were black, the bottom were yellow...tbh none have ever let me examine teeth so not sure. he seems to be eating fine but hes still skinny.

Re: I can't wake my baby up
Ive just looked up black teeth on the net and it advises that they see a vet as it can be rotten teeth and they may need cleaning, but I think that its the least of your worries at
the moment, wait until hes feeling better xx

Re: I can't wake my baby up
Hi Amethyst - glad Pumpkin is still with you. Maybe worth a vet appointment just to get him checked over (that way you can rule out any respiratory infection and get the teeth checked).
