Daisy's leg - another question
Daisy's leg is still causing bother.
As it doesnt seem to cause her pain I thought I would have a feel around, and i could feel that the elbow seems to have a round lump on it. When feeling the elbow it is hard and round and ball like, totally unlike the other arm.
Could this mean that she has a tumour on her leg? Or could it be a symptom of the injury?
I am really worried now that it will never get better

Re: Daisy's leg - another question
P.S the lump doesnt appear to be seperate from the leg, or attached to it - the ball seems to be her joint itself

Re: Daisy's leg - another question
It may be a mass of inflammed tissue shazzy that forms around the healing bone. However if it is solid it is hard to know and you cannot rule out a tumour or a bone that is split with the ends misaligned and not healing.
Would you consider an X ray?

Re: Daisy's leg - another question
I did wonder if it could be tissue as when the vet felt her leg she said the elbow wad very inflamed so I guess that is what she was feeling. She did say it had gone down after a week when she next saw her. She then said to give her 10 more days on metacam. Think I'll give it till early next week then see about another vet visit for a possible X-ray
Sorry for all the threads - tonight wad the first night I had a proper feel and it worried me. Swollen tissue does make sense... She is using it a tiny bit more

Re: Daisy's leg - another question
I wonder if it is actually dislocated rather than broken? I know it is possible to manipulate the ball back into the socket if this is the case and would explain why it does not seem to be getting much better. A X ray would tell and if she was anaesthetised they could manoeuvre it back into place.

I have wondered that myself soufflé but didn't know if anything could be done for that. I'd be scared to have her put under at her age though... I don't know

Re: Daisy's leg - another question
Well I have made an appointment for Monday evening with my regular vet (I didnt want to go back to the others because if they can make a mistake with meds dosage they could make a mistake with anaesthetic if it came to it). Monday eve will be the 11 days since her last vet visit, and the vet said give her 10 more days on the metacam. As she is fine in herself I dont think its necessary to take time off work today to get her seen urgently as she is happily hopping round like a mad woman on the other 3 legs - I just want a second opinion on weather it is just still healing or something more
