Re: Fingers crossed?...
Not that I condone this sort of thing, but have you tried the puppydog eyes routine? May not work for you, but something that did work for me once when I spotted the dog of my dreams was to whine (like a dog!) all night and into the next day. I got him! You may be too old to get away with that though. Still, I think that hamster needs you and I don't think you can stoop too low in your quest to save him. If you're good at it, you could also try the Jedi Mind Trick May the force be with you!

MMmm well let me think considering I said no to John for any hamster originally finally gave in & now addicted myself.
Mention that you do all the looking after you don't rely on anyone else. I would just keep saying how he needs a good home that he is just going to be bored with no one to care for him. They are tucked away in your room so don't get in anyone elses way. Do you get pocket money Mark? Say you'll forfeit for x amount of weeks.
I can't believe I am writing this considering John nagged me over & over till he got Gizmo. I'd quite happily have another too since the new litter of WW's were in the pet shop on Monday. There was 1 Agouti, 2 Sapphires & 4 Pearls. Ooo.

Re: Fingers crossed?...
Well the best thing to do is be mature and show your responsible.
When you do all the caring and i assume you pay for the majority of food, bedding etc.?
Then theres no reason why you shouldn't be allowed since its not going to bother your mum
Do lots of jobs, offer to get drinks, clear up things without being asked and generally be really good.
