Wheel size
Hey,
Sorry, i know there will be posts else where, but i cant find them :/
Found this
Hamsters & Mice: great selection at zooplus
40% off is good. But what size is needed for Morris? I currently have a flying saucer style one just now, but it arches him sideways, so maybe that is why he does not use it so much these days...

Re: Wheel size
the 20cm should be ok for him, my wheel is 18cm and I have a syrian, it doesnt arch her back.
The flying saucers tend to be better for dwarfs, Im asuming Morris is your syrian in the picture

Re: Wheel size
Yeh he is
Is this the best type to get? I have also seen photos of a wheel which has sides, but with holes cut out for them to climb in....if that makes sense? I take it everybody is raving about the one i am looking at thought?

Ah, I think you're talking about the Wodent Wheel! Yes, it's awesome I had to order mine from the US. Bit expensive but it looks like a great wheel. I'm in the process of modifying Brownie's cage so it will fit. I bought the larger size for her as she's a fairly wide hamster

Re: Wheel size
I actually have both these wheels, the wodent junior, and the karlie 20cm one (hamster toy horder??? Me??? Never!!)
I prefer the Karlie, it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO quiet, all you can hear is the light tapping of your hamsters feet on the wood. The obvious downsides are that as its wood it is chewable and if your hamster likes to pee in the wheel it will absorb it and smell really bad. This can be over come with a coat of plasti coat which is a child safe (and therefore hammy safe!) paint. I found that my local Wilkinson stocked it and managed to get it in clear so that the wheel still looks natural, but lots of colours are also availible if you fancy something a bit funkier!

Re: Wheel size
I'm a massive karlie fan as well. It is beyond quiet!
