Re: Hamster ball query
My worry with hamster balls isn't escape, but stress and injury. Their toes can get caught in the small gaps of the ball and rip off. I know the intention is probably to let them out of their cage to explore, but hamsters use their whiskers and sense of smell to get around, which they are unable to do in a ball. This can cause them to run into things very hard, injuring or just scaring them. If you want to let your hammy explore outside their enclosure, it's best to set up a playpen, bathroom, or other safe enclosed space for your hamster to play in.
