Hamsters and COVID-19
I've had the misfortune of coming up positive with covid. I know hamsters are susceptible to covid, I was just wondering if anyone who has had a similar experince; how did you handle it? I have a Syrian and a robo.
I've refrained from any kissing and such but I really don't want my hammies to get sick, what else will make it better? Their cages are in my room.

Re: Hamsters and COVID-19
We have all had it but ours are in a separate room from us. Used a mask and gloves and avoided contact with the hamsters. It just has to be that way till you are better. Feed as infrequently as possible ie give a lot at once so you only need to feed every 3 days.
If you can get an unaffected person to do the feeding then that is even better.
If at all possible move to another room otherwise ensure there is plenty air in your room and open the windows as much as possible.
Get well soon. It's a horrid infection

Re: Hamsters and COVID-19
Thank you. My mom and I both have it, I only hope we didn't spread it before we came up positive. The hammies seem themselves, which is a good sign.
