Default I am so upset.

My grandson was telling me last night about his friend at school who got 2 hamsters of opposite sexes and put them in one cage. They were very young when they got them but nevertheless within a few weeks they had a new litter. The cage is woefully too small for one syrian never mind a family and inevitably the parents ate the babies.
Apparently, the family thought this was very funny and natural and left the hamsters to it resulting in several more litters and babies being eaten. Eventually the female who was still not yet fully grown died but one or two of the babies survived and the situation continues.
It seems the hamsters have hardly any space and no enrichment. I am trying to find out the family's address to report them but who to? and will anything be done?

That is awful. I am shocked the people found it funny. You can report them to the RSPCA but I doubt anything will be done. I doubt even telling them how to better the lives of the poor hamsters will even be listened to.

I would definitely try reporting to the RSPCA
