What a little cutie!
Have you seen the thread "Let's see your cages" on the Forum under Housing?
Must have another look at your set up before i comment. I was distracted by the super cute baby hamster.

Definitely remove the rope toy with two blocks attached. That's cotton rope which is extremely dangerous - it can cause serious life threatening blockages in the digestive system just like fluffy nesting materials would unfortunately.

A couple other hazards I can see would be the climbing toy & hanging bridge thing. Those both have gaps in them which unfortunately pose a risk to hamsters since they can end up getting limbs and such caught in them, leading to potential injury. The pencil shaped chew sticking straight up is also an injury risk if I'm honest(specifically if fallen on from above).

Hamsters honestly don't tend to bother with wood chews like that anyway. Whimzees for example are much more successful with hamsters and very widely loved, and the hedgehog & alligator shaped options are very cute or you could stick with the simple sticks or toothbrushes. The veggie sausage & strips are unsafe due to containing clove bud oil.

Oh he is sooooo cute! He looks like a baby bear. You will have to get your thinking cap on now for a name.

He's technically for my 5yr old (He's 100% for me haha) and she's said she's calling him unicorn lol
But I will definitely be thinking of another name for him
The black and white is technically for my 8yr old 🤣 he's said we can pick a name together 😁

Lol unicorn is a very unique name. Children choose such funny names. I hope she will not be upset if you chose another name. Luckily your son is more willing to compromise.

6 year old, when asked what he wanted to call first hamster, chose his own name! I said - that might be a little bit confusing! So he chose a different one.

Cage set up looks great,

I agree about the wood cubes attached by string - unless the string is sisal rope? Sisal is ok to chew. The hanging bridge is iffy due to the gaps between the log bits. But you could just stick cardboard on top of it. I actually think they're not keen on swinging bridges that are too high up, unless it actually leads somewhere.

My only other comment is the lovely long thing with coloured wicker balls on. It all looks to be safe materials but I'd be slightly concerned a hamster might garotte themself on it! From the level near it or by falling on it from above and getting a leg caught. It might be better placed either hanging down (eg from top to bottom) - or as it is now but at one end so it's up against the cage bars rather than in mid air.

One thing to think about when setting up a cage is - access. It can be difficult to work out sometimes but helps if you can spot any access issues before the hamster does as then it stresses them out when you change things.

So for example the large digging box - he can get onto it via the cork log at one side but if he jumps down he might not be able to get up there again easily. If you have another bendy stick bridge you could maybe put it on the right side of the sand box (rt side looking at the photo) as another/alternative step up to it. The steps at the front could possibly do instead, if they fit, but I'm guessing you want those there so he can get out of the cage easily.

What I've found with access and them enjoying using things is - they like ladders and ramps etc if they lead from one place to another - but if they don't they tend to ignore them (or just use them as a way to see if they can get to the top of the cage and escape!). Like you have the cork log going from the house roof to the sandbath. That means the cork log will get used a lot (and enjoyed more) as it goes from a to b.
