Re: Omg I got the call he's almost ready
Personally I don't think you need the perspex sides Except the corner where the sand bath is. Unless you want much deeper substrate. But it looks fine as it is to me - if there's a platform going on the left. I find robos like deep substrate for digging a lot but syrians not very much. Some dig some don't!

The left is where the wheel will go as its 14inch from top to bottom so I can't get more substrate in or it will rub on the top bars
I just prefer the look of the perspex all the way around I don't like bared cages
It will look like this

Oh sorry I forgot about the wheel Is there still the front opening door free with the perspex panels? It's one of the big advantages of that cage.

You're not going for the front opening panel perspex option? How do you access the cage?

Oh i see. Are you are going to make a lid by attaching the top panel to a frame?
I'm the opposite and prefer barred cages because i like to be able to interact with the hamster.

Re: Omg I got the call he's almost ready
I'd very strongly encourage you not to do perspex on the front, at least not a full panel. Having a large front door is extremely helpful in so many ways including making it easier to have a tamed hamster since they don't generally do so good with being picked up from above.
Having a large door on the side of the cage makes everything easier though including daily maintenance. Keeping the bars on at least one side means you can still use a normal water bottle in the easiest and least risky way possible where it won't be at risk of getting chewed up since you can attach it from the outside, plus you can take it off for cleaning much easier that way. Even just feeding your hamster every day with an actual door instead of a lid is going to be significantly easier.
Tank style cages also aren't very good with ventilation compared to barred cages. Even just keeping the front panel as the regular barred panel will help with that though, rather than making the entire cage into a tank style cage.

I have a tank style cage and it has plenty of ventilation. I love my cage.

Re: Omg I got the call he's almost ready
Tank style cages have some ventilation, but they can never truly compare to a barred or even partially barred cage. There's some science behind this actually but to keep things simple and short it ultimately comes down to cross ventilation and just overall having far more surface area for air to freely circulate in barred cages vs tank style cages.

In the groups I'm in tank styles are more favoured over barred
It's each to there own and a hamster can live a happy and full life in either
