Meet Ares

So I did it, I adopted him. He was handed over as he was 'too fast'. Such a sweet little boy. He's busy exploring his cage so I grabbed a quick photo. Meet Ares, a robo, whose not quite 6 months old. Weighs a massive 19g. I've missed having a robo so much. Going to leave him to settle in and then we'll hopefully learn more about him.

Congratulations! Yep, a rodent family is not complete without a Robo. I'm surprised you lasted that long without one, lol. Lovely boy.

How do you pronounce his name? Like Aries or Airs?

In all honesty there wasn't any up for rehoming near me until now which surprises me as rescues are still struggling following the lockdown pet dump. It's felt really empty since Manias departure. Saying that it felt weird after Niko passed. I'm curious to see if I can have the same bond with Ares as I did with Niko. It's pronounced like Aries. Ares was the ancient Greek god of war/battle and courage (as well as the nasty bits that come with war but we'll leave that bit out).

congrats on Ares! I remember seeing threads about your incredible bond with Niko, he would go in your hoodie right? as someone with 2 robos, I cant even comprehend how you got him that tame! I'm so excited to see how well Ares bonds with you

Yes that's right. Niko would often be found in my hoodie

I don't really know how it happened either of I'm honest. I just aim for them to be tame enough to be handled to health check and weigh, everything else was a bonus (literally).

Ares was quite curious last night, following me around the cage as I was adding stuff but would run away if I was too close. Going to get some pumpkin seeds to try him with to tempt him.

He was very curious about his new neighbours. He was probably thinking 'woah, that's a big hamster'. Haha
