Introducing Orko

We have adopted a 4 month old dwarf hamster and named him Orko! I am so excited. Orko is my first ever hamster. Orko's previous owner moved overseas and could not take him with her. My partner collected him and said he is very cute. I have only caught a glimpse of Orko so far. I was going to wait until I could get a picture of him before making this thread but I am not sure when that will be as he is shy.

Orko has been with us for just 2 days. Last night when I was in bed I heard him use the wheel, drink water and eat. This morning I found he had eaten the fresh food I gave him and some of his seed mix.

I am so happy to have Orko.

That’s amazing news! I know you’ve been preparing for a while now and your hamster will be absolutely spoilt rotten! So glad for you, very excited to see a picture when you get a chance

I am so so excited for you and your partner and even more so for little Orko. Congratulations!

What you could do in the meantime is to show a photo of Orko's set up. With all the wonderful hamster things you've hoarded, i think everyone is looking forward to see Orko's home.

Orko's new home is absolutely amazing! He is one lucky little dwarfie.

Of course i'm happy for you but not only that. I get very excited when an unwanted hamster finds a loving forever home.

With his previous human moving overseas, he was potentially made homeless but luck was on his side and now he has a happy future to look forward to.

You could get a night camera if you want to see him before he's ready to meet you.

Oh thank you! It is the first time I have set up a hamster home so I was expecting you to say I needed to change something. I am going to get a night camera as soon as possible.
