Re: Introducing Orko
Aww, he's such a little cutie.
The Silent Runner should be quiet. Gertie has one and lives in our bedroom. I can only hear the tapping of her paws.
What kind of noise does Orko's wheel make?

Thank you
It makes a kind of noise like it is wobbly and not steady. When I see Orko running, the wheel is steady. It has also needed the bolt adjusting 3 times already. I am pretty confident my partner has put it together correctly as he is very good at that kind of thing. It is a mystery.

Re: Introducing Orko
I found that at first the bolt needed adjusting quite a bit with Scottie's wheel and i had to get the tension right but it's fine now. Almost like it needed running in.
Gertie's wheel was fine from day one.

It is good you were able to sort that out. With my wheel, it is fine for a few hours or one night and then needs tightening but it can only be tightened a tiny bit or Orko cannot physically move it.
I find the stand wobbles but Exotic Nutrition say that is normal.

Re: Introducing Orko
Orko was very busy last night. He has started to take the occasional sip from his water bowl but then usually follows that by using his bottle.
He managed to carry his whimzee last night which is a first. I got a cute video of him. At first he is in his sand box and slowly appears.

Re: Introducing Orko
Hmm Exotic Nutrition seem to be saying everything is normal! Is the stand warped on the base? Because it shouldn't move if it's flat. It may be having the bolt a bit looser that is causing it to wobble. The other thing that can make them appear to wobble is if the front and back aren't firmly pushed onto the running track. Then they can have like a kind of scissors action when spinning. Happened to me the first time. Getting the bolt just right is a pain - tight enough it allows spinning but not so loose it doesn't work loose/rattle.
From memory they all do work loose eventually and need checking/adjusting quite regularly (but mine was attached to cage bars).
That's a lovely photo of him. And can imagine him carrying a whimzee!

Re: Introducing Orko
Ah yes I missed that! Watched it now. I wonder if he managed to get it over that edge! Is it me or does he seem to have grown already?!
