I am watching Orko on the camera and several times he has tried to claw the glass like he is trying to climb out. Is this a sign of stress?

I wouldn't have thought so. Everything is still quite new to him so he's exploring his surroundings. Pawing the glass, nibbling the wood and sniffing everything.

Does he have anything with his scent on from his old cage like a bit of substrate or a toy?

Did you get any info from his previous owner? Like, what kind of enclosure was he in and did she handle him at all.

He came with 2 wooden chew toys and they are in the enclosure. He is scratching at the glass and back of the cage, trying to climb up the sand box. Ive seen videos of hamsters stressed and trying to climb out their cages but I would have thought he has enough space.

He has enough space and plenty of enrichment. Is his wheel and water bottle working ok?

What happens when you go to him and talk to him?
