Introducing Orko

Will be interesting to see which one he'll use more. Two identical wheels but in different locations.

I don't know if hamsters can distinguish between different colours and have colour preferences like humans.

Saying that, my dwarf Ozzy preferred a blue wheel to a green one. I found out when i exchanged an identical one for a different colour.

That is interesting especially as if they come out at night, I imagined they could not see colour.

I love how Orko seems to have games. When in his wheel he will jump out and climb on something or do something else and then jump back in his wheel. It is so cute.

He loves his sand in a jam jar. Thank you for that tip Ria.

I just finished work and was looking fòrward to my coffee stop and Orko video! He's become part of my life, lol.

Great to see him so active. Is he using all or most of his habitat now?

That is such a lovely thing to hear! I am so happy you enjoy his videos.

Since the second wheel he is using the whole cage. I bought a second camera so I can watch both sides of the cage. Last night he came out and used his purple wheel. 3 hours later he went to the other side and spent the rest of his time on the green wheel.

A tactical move to add the second wheel? To get him to use the whole enclosure? It worked a treat and very clever of you.

Hamsters get their teeth into anything so don't worry about it. Good item to wear his teeth down.

Thank you Ria. That was what I hoped as I know how much he loves his wheel.

I am glad it is okay if he chews his cooling tile.

Orko eats very slowly. Sometimes it takes him all night to eat something apart from tofu. I saw how quickly he eats that. It reminds me of a child when they have their favourite food.
