Gordon was a very shy Robo and hated being out of his tank. He was a happy and self contained Robo who lived to well over two years.
Thank you for explaining. I really like it when you post on my thread as I really value your opinion.

Gordon sounds adorable. I cannot see Orko ever wanting to go in a playpen either.

At 8.54 AM Orko came out! He got some water and did some digging behind his wheel. Maybe it was because I kept the blinds closed and it was not too bright for him. I was sitting on the sofa and managed to see him. He is so cute!

Thank you. That's very nice of you to say that.

Robos are quite random so i'm not surprised that you saw Orko in the morning. I've spent ages sitting by Finley's tank late evening without seeing as much as a whisker but then he appears at odd times during the day.

Trying to get a good photo of him is like wildlife photography.

How funny Finlay seems to have changed his routine. It seems robos may not have a strict routine.

Don't think he had a routine. But honestly, those Robos!!
I replaced the substrate in his box where his wheel stands with sand so he won't jam it.
I came home to find his wheel jammed because he had shuffled the sand into a heap behind the wheel!

Where did you place Orko's wheel?

Hahaha! That is so funny! Orkos wheel is velcroed to a platform. I tried it in the sand but it was so noisy no matter what I tried.

Orko has been moving his bedding so much that there was hardly any by his multi chamber hide. I added more yesterday. It is amazing how much bedding is needed. He has 5 85litre bags.

I have now realised what I keep finding in Orko's cage. The shells of seeds! He removes every single shell from any seeds. I was wondering what they were and showed my partner. He puts she shells in sand mainly.

I gave him a calico worm in a separate bowl. The worm was gone but he put some seed shells in the bowl. I am not sure what that means. It reminded me of a human saying they felt sick so threw up! Lol.

I think he had a meal of calico worm with seeds on the side.
Very considerate of him to leave the shells in the bowl ready for the waitress to take away.

Lol, you just made me laugh! It was very considerate since he usually puts them in the sand and I spend ages sieving them out.

Funny how hamsters like to eat their seeds in the sand.
A picnic on the beach.

I have a communal baking tin with sand in a secluded corner in the free roaming area. Every hamster goes in there to eat their pouched packed lunch. The two old boys even have a nap in there afterwards.

I use a small sieve to scoop their litter out from time to time.
