Luckily he actually eats those! They are part of his food mix.

I checked last nights footage of Orko. He is now very very active and busy. I was shocked to see he gets between his sand box. Here is the footage. Is it safe?

Do you mean the bit towards the end of the video where he is right at the front between sandbox and glass?

If that's what you're worried about i wouldn't worry because he looks like he's moving about freely. He's not pushing or squeezing himself into a gap.

Lovely to see him so active. He's happy in there.

Yes, that is the bit. I panicked and added more bedding so he could not do it again. I am terrified of him becoming stuck as he likes to go into any tiny gap. I am relieved you said it is okay.

I think that it won't be too long and you'll see him during the day too.

I just sat Finley's wheel in a cardboard box so it won't get jammed up with bedding.
Shy as he is, he appeared to sniff inspect what i had been doing followed by a quick spin on the wheel before going back down his burrow.

There's no harm in gently rustling a bit of substrate when putting a treat down. He may appear to investigate. A hamster's curiosity is often stronger than their fear.

That is so cute. I actually did just move bedding but he did not come up. It will be nice if he does one day.

Orko used his sandbox a lot last night. I put bridges there so he can enter and exit safely. He tries to go under the bridge and jump on to the shelf anyway! Here is a little video. He does not come back after the 56th minute.

Haha, "why take the human way across the bridge when there's a hamster path underneath it and i can jump" says Orko.
