Yes sticking with Raffy Short for Raphael - who was an artist, a teenage mutant ninja turtle and an angel. I'm not sure if he's an artist (although he is good at tunneling), but he did have that slightly maverick teenage ninja turtle about him and is also very sweet and a bit of an angel.

Usually naming is done quicker and easier and a group decision. But Stepson isn't here (and is a teenager and doesn't do things like that these days), OH falls asleep as soon as he gets in (it's lambing time) so every time we've had the conversation he's fallen asleep.

We did have a shortlist and another one he really liked, and another one I really liked - but they were too similar to our last hamsters' names so couldn't quite go with that.

So Raffy it is. Glad it's decided so I can start a thread for him!. I have some photos from yesterday

I also think Stepson will like Raffy as it's a bit more cool and grown up and less cutesy than the usual names.

I was going to say that i really like the name Raffy but then thought it better to keep quiet. Was ever so curious though.

Had to smile at the angel part. He may look like one but got a feeling this one could turn out to be a very lovable little devil. He is a cream afterall.

Just started his thread Yes I wonder if all creams are like this?! Newt was certainly very energetic and cheeky (and also butter wouldn't melt sometimes).

He is really small for a Syrian! About 150g I reckon.

You are used to big, chunky 200g+ pedigrees.

Yep. Although our first hamster, Charlie was a huge chunky pet shop hamster! But it was a small pet shop where they bred them locally.
