Thanks. OH grumbling about substrate on the floor Maybe I should have done the cardboard a big higher. And I didn't do it at the shelf end as that was lower. But didn't expect him to rummage it all so high lol. Nothing has actually fallen out of the cage yet, OH just expects it to. Doesn't matter at the sides anyway.

Yes, they're usually all over the place the first day then disappear and go quiet to surface again and carry on at a more sedate pace.

Had to laugh at the belly up landing.
I think this one is going to be a right little character.

I think so too. He's been on top of the flower basket and I had an eek moment there as hung by a leg on the way down. My concern over hanging things but wasn't bothered and just freed himself. It's only a bit of sisal string, not a chain or anything.

But I think you're right, once he's checked every inch of the cage out for an escape route he'll settle down to food and wheeling.

Name still not confirmed! We have a short shortlist as not sure the one originally decided fits his personality. OH is very busy this week so when he's not deadbeat at some point it will be decided. There's one he favoured I'm not sure about (I have to say it out loud regularly!), and one I favour neither of us are sure about, and one I had decided on before he came but then thought it didn't fit his personality! The name he came with fits his personality, but not sure about that for us.

A consensus is important in this house so we all bond with him well.

After a nap he was out again about 10pm thundering in his wheel and happy to have eye contact and stop and listen to you. I tried him with three names Hoping he would react to one and make the decision. He reacted to all of them lol. So no help there! Might end up giving him two names.

You could put the three names up for a vote on here.

I daren't lol! OH wants a say We'll decide today. I've almost decided anyway. But I want something we're both happy with. Hamster seems happy with any of them! He seems to have moved into the house overnight as the entrance is stuffed up with paper. He kept tossing the toilet roll tube leading into it out of the way yesterday! Never saw him going through the entrance but he did so much tunneling I think he found it by tunneling underneath it. He's probably tipped the sand potty over by tunneling under it.

He's lovely. I've fallen in love with him already. He seems so responsive and sweet - and also vigorously active!
