Agree. I actually think it would be quite unhealthy as well.

Eeek! Is all i can say to that idea.
If you really want to keep dead hamsters indoors then you need to have them cremated first.

I was just curious honestly. I came across a whole section of over 100s of people stating they've buried their hamster in a plant pot. It just seemed bittersweet to see the plants with their names on. I even asked as I was a little confused at first but nope, the ones I asked all stated their hamster was buried under inside the plant pot.

Crikey, that pot is so small, and a palm as well! As someone who professionally deals with dead things (archaeologist) and has buried many dead things.. I highly advise against it and I think these people maybe post at the start as it looks all quite fresh and maybe wouldn't then want to update about all the nasties. If it is a syrian, just think how big the syrian will be compared to a pot like that.

I find it quite creepy wanting to have the body buried in your house tbh. Death is about moving on, its natural and being outside seems more at one with nature to me.

I think also on these kinds of posts where people are sharing how they buried their recently deceased hamsters, nobody really wants to come in and say "actually, I did this and it went disgusting after a week". So there's a bias towards the positive stories.

I find when my pets are still alive I can see the appeal of wanting to keep them close even after death, but once they are gone, the body doesn't have the same meaning to me, and I'm comfortable burying them in the garden.
