Default Colour change! Pt 2

Heya, I posted some photos before of my hybrid dwarfs colour change from dark grey to almost completley white over the winter months. Just this last week Winston has started to change back to dark grey and it's so cool to see! Hes so splotchy in colour right now but it's all happened super fast.Just wanted to share some photos of his colour progression!

So heres two pics of his new splotchy self compared to his previous white self! I'm gonna keep this updated mainly because I find it interesting!

That is amazing and he is supercute!

Yes, please keep us updated because this is really fascinating to observe.

Are you sure that he is a hybrid and not a winter white?
I wouldn't be able to tell the difference myself between a hybrid and a pure bred dwarf.

I also have a dwarf hybrid who changed colour quite drastically from nearly black to light grey but she stayed light coloured.

I had read recently that pet shop russian dwarfs are hybrids always. I got him from a pet shop so assumed this would be the case. Also my friend got what we were told was his brother as they were kept together and her hamster didnt change colour at all! I guess anything is possible though!

That's so cool that she changed from such a dark colour! It really is fascinating. I thought maybe he would stay light but since weve got much lighter in the nights here hes started to change back!

Gonna keep it updated cause it really is fascinating to me and I think itll be a nice thing to look back on

Definitely. Yes, apparently all pet shop dwarfs are hybrids but some have more winter white genes than others. It's so unexpected when they change colour. None of my other dwarfs have changed to the same extent as Edwina has.
Your dwarf's current fur pattern is amazing and i've never seen colouring like that before.
