Meet Bertha!
I've just gotten Bertha settled in her cage -- I love her already! I have a feeling she's going to be a handful just like Egg; she tried to escape her carrier the whole hour-and-a-half home and she's exploring her whole cage right now. I think I just heard her making some chittering noises while digging around a big hide I buried with a tube leading down to it, which she seems to favor so far. I've never had a talkative hamster before!
She also seems to be a chewer. Egg never chews on anything that isn't also edible, but I've seen Bertha gnawing at some birch wood, a carrot chew (which she carried into her food bowl to nom at!), her hay tunnels, a rope-and-loofah hanging chew, and a sea grass ball so far.

Congratulations! That little pink nose.... She's so cute. Nice cage, too. I've never seen a clear hamster wheel before! Enjoy getting to know her....

Ha, speaking of the carrot chew -- she just picked it up and carried it into the aofrementioned hide!

Re: Meet Bertha!
@ Chicleteer and Luna -- Thank you! I've had this cage for a while but I revamped the lid so that it was raised -- now I don't have to worry about fitting both bedding and a wheel! The wheel is the Niteangel 11.8 inch wheel. So far, it's very quiet and Bertha seems to like it

Re: Meet Bertha!
Lovely to meet Bertha and i love the name! She looks like a spirited lady who will make her presence known. Looking forward to see more of her.
I'm trying to locate the small Nightangel wheel for one of my dwarfs but the shipping costs as much as the wheel at the moment and i don't know of a UK supplier.
