Smile is this suitable ??

Hi this is my first post here, basically i'm making my own cage for my hamster and i wanted to use some spare PVC flexi pipe as tunnels and maybe ladders its large enough its 4 inches but is it safe??

If it is the sort you use to vent dryers or air con I wouldn't use it as the plastic film is quite thin and they may chew and swallow that causing a blockage

You can buy long bendy tubes in pet shops and they're inexpensive and colourful.

Not safe really as mentioned above but these are ok. Even so I am careful to check them fir Sharp edges where the spiral ends. Cardboard is your friend with hamsters . Any long cardboard postal tubes etc. Pringles tubes are good too. Cork logs are excellent as large tunnels due to the texture (enrichment for them) and light weight on top of the substrate.

But for the long plastic flexible ones I have this one. I rarely use it extended but it makes a good out of cage toy or a tunnel for the hamster to walk into when lifting them out of the cage.
