Re: Foster hamsters
A sad little face in a tiny bare cage with a 4in wheel haunted me. Long way away, no space and no cage so we went on an outing in the camper van, quickly made the greenhouse Samla into a bin cage, moved the coffee table out of the way and Clive moved in.

It's when people say that they don't like the hamster, that's what really gets to me.

Re: Foster hamsters
He’s gorgeous. Glad you got him - especially if he was with people who didn’t like him!

I understand that, but then he is way off better with you than he ever was with them

Re: Foster hamsters
Little Nellie has been adopted today and moved in with a lovely lady who got her a Skyline Marrakesh. She's a sweet little hamster and i'll miss her.

Re: Foster hamsters
Hmm, Clive is incredibly timid and such a dainty little thing. I had him advertised and he generated interest so i took his ad down. I think that i just as well face up to the fact that we want to keep him instead of fluffing around. Yet another adoption failure. I'm so rubbish at rehoming.
I've moved him in the hamster room next to lively youngster Jack who is the noisiest eater i've ever met. Maybe the smell and sounds of other hamsters will get his curiosity going. He's still in the bin cage because a change of location and cage would have been too much for him i think. I'll move him into an Alaska once i've figured out a set up he may like. Don't know what he does or likes because he's mostly in his house. He has started to act like a hamster though. I watched him pouch toilet paper strips for his nest.
Clive reminds me of a young Rodney who was also disliked by his first humans and had most likely been handled roughly by young children.
