I'm curious, how did you pick up Rupert for that health check? Did you slide your thumb under his belly? Would be good to know if I need to do it one day

Robos are the easiest to hold because they are so small and fit into your hand. Also, they don't move much once they're in a hold.
I sit in a safe area and tip them onto my lap then scoop them up with both hands before positioning them into one hand. My thumb across their front keeps them in place.
Here's a photo of Lola to show how i hold them.

Enjoy your mealworm.

Some are more tolerant than others which usually shows in their facial expressions.
I only got bitten once and that was by Scottie in the early days.20220520_224443.jpg

Thanks so much for sharing, that's really good to know! Finley looks great ontop of that, it looks like a little forest for him to explore

I fancied a play with the Dremel so bought a bin cage cheap that already had a meshed lid.

I added a window, tube run and decorative tape but purposely used a tape i don't like so i won't be tempted to keep it as a temporary foster bin cage.

At the moment i'm using it for educational purposes. By that i mean that i advertised it as a small bin cage, suitable for One dwarf hamster and not suitable for a Syrian hamster.

The message i'm trying to get across is that it is too small as a permanent home, dwarfs should live alone and Syrians need cages a lot bigger.

It's overpriced so nobody wants to buy it and will be donated to a rescue eventually.
