Re: Foster hamsters
They look happier already. I love the first image of Millie peeking out of her hide. How sad you have to deal with such people along the way.

Re: Foster hamsters
I’ve only just seen and read through this thread. What an amazing amount of adoption hamsters you’ve helped, it’s fantastic, they are all so lucky to have you

Re: Foster hamsters
Thanks. A lot more hamsters get rescued than mentioned on here where likeminded individuals collaborate.

Re: Foster hamsters
I just brushed poops and debris off foster Robo Scottie's platform when he suddenly shot out from his house and attacked the brush!!
I've never seen a Robo pluck up so much courage to do something like that.
Gave him some mealworms as a peace offering. He ate them but still looked annoyed.

Re: Foster hamsters
Aww. Look at him in his cute house. Do you mind me asking where you got the little house from?

Re: Foster hamsters
It came with a donated cage. It was just a plain wooden house but i painted the roof with red plastikote. I covered the window with a p@h leaf chew which i painted with green plastikote and glued on with Elmer's school glue.
Petscorner pet shop sells them and available online but forgot who makes them. I'll find out.
I had this crazy little rescue dwarf called Clarissa who got her head stuck in the decorative hole of a house so i cover windows now. This very house belonged to Clarissa who sadly died of cancer at only 10 month old. I kept the house in her memory.

Re: Foster hamsters
It was your craft skills that made the house cute! I thought it came like that. I think I know the house you mean now. I did not realise you painted it. How lovely you keep the house in Clarissa's memory.

Re: Foster hamsters
No skill involved, only a paint brush. Here's a little Trixie house with a lick of paint. That used to be Gordon's, our first Robo who spent many months in a p@h adoption tank till i moved him into a fish tank. My OH made a lid with gold coloured mesh and i super glued beads on it but dropped one onto the laminated floor where it stuck. Can't remember how many times i tried to hoover it up.......

Re: Foster hamsters
It looks like a cute cottage a fairy would live in. I love it. The gold mesh and beaded tank lid sounds amazing.

Re: Foster hamsters
Aw all these lovely roborovskis. I love reading about your rescues and seeing them in upgraded habitats.
