At the moment both hams are pointedly ignoring me as I've been away for a few days and had a friend in to feed them. I got up in the wee small hours to say hello, and they didn't want to know!
Oh aye, it's crook. Thanks.

Maybe you forgot to bring them a wee pressie back.
Do you have any photos of your hammies yet?

Young Robo Walter was adopted today and moved into a well furnished detolf mansion which was quite a jump up the property ladder from his bare p@h bedsit starter home.

Yes, i'm so happy for him!

Just cleaning the tank to move Robo Rupert, the one who jumped out of the adoption tank, in it.
I'm struggling to keep track of all the Robos stopping over in this halfway house!

I was at work overnight and my OH said that Rupe was up and running about last night and this morning when he fed and checked on him. Looking forward to meet this little man properly.

This halfpint of a Robo tried to climb out of the playpen and managed to get to the top! I put him in there while i swapped his substrate and stuff over from the bin to the foster tank but had to hurry and more or less chucked everything in to get this spirited little fella home.

As he’s gorgeous. Question - how do you get them out of the cage?! Our last one would just hide and I had to virtually dismantle the cage to get him out and scoop him in a mug. He was too savvy to walk into a tube.

I usually use a small hamster ball with sunflower seeds in it and place it near the Robo. Rustle the substrate first. Monty i can scoop up with my hands now when he's on the surface. Rupert i scooped up with my hands today because i had to take his stuff out anyway. I find that they often run to their sandbath and i use Asda bon bon glass jars so its easy to place a ball in front of it, they smell the seeds and walk in to get them.

Ah yes, that would be it - no homecoming presents!

I'm still working on trying to get some good photos of them. I can go several days without Holly putting in an appearance. However, I'm afraid I'm technologically totally incompetent. Can you send me super simple step-by-step instructions to post a photo?

LOVE the photo of your super-energetic robo!

1. You need to resize the photo to fit the forum page (650 pixels wide). That to me is the fiddly bit using an app or phone but very easy done on Paint in windows 10.

Then when you go to type a message, go to the quick reply box at the bottom to start typing. Under that is a tab that says “Go advanced “. Click on that and scroll down to “Manage Attachments”.

Click on that and a new window opens which has browse (for your photo ). Click browse, select your photo then wait till it appears as text in the new window. Then click upload in the new window. You can do this up to five times in one upload window (ie max 5 photos per post).

Then click on close window.

Go back to your message. At the top of the message box is a paper clip. Click on that and a drop down menu appears - that is where your photo is.

Select insert or insert all. Some text will appear at the end of your message- once you click “post quick reply” at the bottom (ie submit your post) the picture will appear in your post.

Make sure you have your cursor at the end of the message before inserting the photo link/text or it’ll appear mid message. Or - put the cursor where you want the photo to appear within the message, then click insert.
