Ideas fill free space
My Oscar lives in a 80x40 wooden cage. He has a wheel, a place to dig, an adequatly sized sand bath, 2 hiding places, a bendy bridge and some wooden tunnels. The cage we built him has a second floor, which 1/4th is taken by his sand bath, and the other 3/4th are just bedding. I want to add something there, something that he might enjoy but I am not sure what.
Looking for some ideas.

Re: Ideas fill free space
Without seeing a pic how about a cork log/wicker tunnel?
Or can you hang things?
I love the walnut feeders I make for my hamsters to forage from but you could make it with an egg carton if no walnut shells, just won't last as long.

Re: Ideas fill free space
All my hamsters love running along the 55cm long bendy Trixie ladders/bridges i buy from Amazon. They are so versatile. Coconut hides are very popular with them too.
Is Oscar a Syrian or dwarf? My dwarfs enjoy a second wheel, a flying saucer, aside from their upright wheels.
You can make lots of things from cardboard too.
If you post a photo of Oscar and his set up people could have a look and come up with ideas. The thread "Let's see your cages" on the Forum under Housing is a good place to get ideas from as well.
