Congratulations on your new friend. Have you decided on a name for him already? It sounds like he is doing well...pooping, eating, running... I get happy about all those things with my guy lol

His name is Tyson, He was out a little later today, normally by the time I wake up he is sleeping but he was up a little extra later, put some food out for him, stuffed his cheeks and away he goes to sleep, also gave him a small bit of carrot and cucumber (first time I gave it to him) and he ate it all up, he is a food hoarder though, but lucky I know where he keeps it so I can check it once and awhile.

I have ordered some megazorb bedding. as people seem to think it's really good, when I have to clean him out, think Ill do half megazorb and the rest the normal *wood shavings* hoping this will create a diverse environment, he does try to dig in the corners but I think he is just still little to small to digg in the wood shavings properly.

he seems to come out the same every night at around 10pm... and he wheels all night.

He sounds very healthy and happy. Oh yes I have heard of Megazorb. We don't have it where I live but my UK bunny friends have liked it very much for their rabbits. You are lucky Tyson is coming out by 10. I miss those days, my guy used to get up around then when he was young and the ran and ran also. Now he prefers the wee hours of the morning, but I'm flexible so it's ok!

I would like ideas what do with the mega zorb, (In my next full clean) should do half and half, etc etc. would be good for suggestions.

here is my current setup

When woke up the sand in potty looked disturbed but no sign of anything just yet. He seems to poo on his wheel every night. And for the first time he dumped food on it than ran on it and went flying off lol.

I wouldn't do a full cage clean, with a cage that size it's never necessary unless a ham is ill or you get bugs & have to do a deep clean. Just spot clean & do partial cleans, you probably won't even need to go right down to the base of the cage, every few weeks or so, some areas such as around the wheel may need cleaning more than others.
It looks as though you could have quite a bit more substrate for burrowing in there, fill the base up to the top, your wheel should still be ok as there's a fair bit of height above it.
So you could just mix some megasorb in with what you have already to top it up.

the reason why I kept it lower and never filled it up completely for kicking so it doesn't go over the floor (even at this level) it still happens , yeah I know you could use cardboard to prevent that... noticed him trying to dig, but think he might be still to small to dig right down as he seems to struggle a little.

it's really hard to spot clean sometimes as he mostly lets all his poos out on the wheel then they go flying off and get buried. as for Pee, the only place I have noticed pee is in the place he sleeps, yet to find it anywhere else. I did get a potty yesterday and used some sand with some soiled bedding, looks like he did go into it when I was sleeping but didn't find any pee etc.

I do clean his wheel every few days, since he does poo on it, hoping he will grow out of that habit eventually...

as for full cleaning etc, this seems to be subjective, as some say in a big cage once a month, then you say I shouldn't really have to do a full clean, maybe just clean the top layer and put new stuff down, but I thank you for giving me more insight.

I have had a hamster before, but trying to pretty much relearn everything.

Get to know your hamster and his habits first before you decide when and where you have to clean. Use your nose as a guide and don't worry about details like substrate falling on the floor. Get one of those cheap hand held vacuums to clean it up.
If his house is big enough for an en suite toilet he may well use it to pee instead of his nest. What kind/size of house does he have?
I've started a threat once about my Syrian peeing in his house and an en suite was the answer if i remember right.
He has two toilets though, one inside his house and one outside. During the winter months he has been peeing in the outside toilet because his hoard inside his house is so big and taking up a lot of space.
Don't worry about poops too much as they don't smell and in a big cage with deep substrate it takes a couple of months to even notice them.
It took me by surprise how infrequently a proper hamster cage needs cleaning.
