Goodbye Polo, today we said goodbye to Polo such a sweet girl who I did my best for. Rest in peace x

Seeing her resting so peacefully brings me such comfort, still my heart aches.

She won’t be replaced and I have her Alaska enough auboise bedding and goodies to last for 6 months or more.

If you are near DA5 in the UK please let me know if you can use this to bring joy to another hamsters life.

Oh no! I can't believe Polo is gone!

I am so so sorry to hear this and know how you feel just now.
The grief and shock of losing a beloved hamster is intense at first. I know it's a clichè but it will ease as time goes on. We will never stop missing our hamsters though. They stay with us in our hearts forever.
Our sorrow is truly awful and consuming in the first couple of weeks or so but eventually we will start to reflect on the happy memories and so will you. You will remember the happy life Polo had with you and the love you gave her.

Please don't be hasty and give Polo's Alaska away. You have so much to offer a hamster and there are so many out there reaching out for some happiness. Put it away somewhere until you feel ready or make that final decision. No other hamster will ever replace Polo but you may see a sad little hamster face in the future that captures your heart.

A rescue hamster lives in our beloved Henry's Alaska now and Henry's photo watches over him like a guardian angel. Henry's body is in the garden but his spirit and memories are all around us.

Play well at bridge Polo with all the others gone before you.

Thank you Ria - All her goodies are going to a wildlife rescue, seeing an empty cage is hard x

How old was Polo?
I sometimes forget how short their lives are.

Have you read the thread "The Rainbow Bridge"? It's a beautifully written story and comforting at times like this.
It's under Memorials.

I’m not so sure, we had her as after she was bought for a child who was frightened of her. At youngest 18month may have been 2, vet felt it was a fast growing tumour.
I will read the rainbow bridge in a few days time - everything is making me cry right now. Time will heal x
