Default Meet Ghost

Now this little chap bit me as soon as he saw me so initial meeting went well 😅

Ghost was taken into rescue when his previous owner could not longer care for him. He's about 6-7 months old and your typical lazy boy...haven't seen much of him yet. He's bit me, peed on me and then gone to bed :/

Oh well

He sounds a right little charmer! Is Ghost a syrian or dwarf? Maybe he just wanted to be left alone to try out the new bed.

He bit me in the rescue. They woke him up so I could handle him to see if I was alright with him. He had other ideas. He was fine once he woke up a bit more but I'm leaving them all to settle with little physical contact for a minimum of 3 days. Then start the taming/trust building sessions.

Also he's a Syrian

Indeed. On top of that I have 3 rescue dogs (not rescued today. Don't worry I'm not that daft!)

My 'timetable' so to speak is dogs all day (they're pretty chill at night and just lie there). Niko my robo is crepuscular (awake at dawn and dusk) so I handle him then. Let him out for a run.

With the Syrians it'll be a case of see whose happy to be handled (if anyone) after 3days. Then alternate the nights to begin with as to not stress them out.

Sounds simple in my head but is anything ever that easy?

Congrats! I do have a soft spot for the grumpy ones lol! Look forward to seeing more of him once he's settled.

Oh I'll be updating this thread regularly with photos too. The grumpy so and so is stuck with me I'm afraid.

On closer inspection it would appear he's got red eyes. Now I know hamsters have poor eyesight anyway but I assume red/ ruby eyes make vision worse like in rats.

He's not completely albino as he has 2 smal patches of very light cream which can only be seen in certain lights. My one rat Klaus was a Siamese point with ruby eyes and I had to adjust the way I did things with him as he would catch my fingers when giving him food, but he never drew blood.

He too was very comfortable last night. So much so I took this really flattering photo of him
