Default Gumtree advert

I came across a for sale Gumtree advert under Pets Equipment & Accessories that features plastic hamster equipment consisting of tubes and modules etc. It appears that two dwarves have to live in this and they are up for sale too because the son has outgrown them.
The asking price is £80.

I wished i had the space so i could offer £20 for the hamsters only, it would be worth a try but i don't have the space because i already have three hamsters.

They are in Gloucestershire so i thought i'd mention it just in case someone here is looking for two dwarves and those two are in need of a home that is familiar with species appropriate housing.

It sounds like a rotostak set up. £80 is a lot to ask - they probably spent a fortune on all the modules. Sadly there are a lot of ads for unwanted hamsters in unsuitable cages. Fatal looking. If you decide you do have the space for a couple of stacking bin cages you could try offering £40 for the lot and bin the cage!

You are so right. It is fatal looking, i have to stop doing it and get on with something more productive. I don't have anymore space myself and can only hope that these hamsters will find a good home.

Ria - are you on facebook? there are a few hamster facebook groups, that you can go and post things like this on and if anyone is in that area and can help, they will go and get them. I can't think of the name of them right now.
I hate the hamster ads, gets me so mad every time. All the horribly small hamster cages for sale.

The word 'unwanted' preceeding any pet is just so sad.

I understand that peoples' circumstances may change but a pet should be regarded as a member of the family...breaks my heart

It is very sad - it is usually parents who have bought them for a child and the child has lost interest and the parents don't want to look after it. It is a bit unfair of me to use the word unwanted as I doubt they are advertised like that - more like - child lost interest, needs a good home where someone has time for it.
