Thanks very much for the advice! I got some Pro-C on the way home, I'll pop a bit on some porridge for her tomorrow morning. It's Baytril to be given by mouth in syringe, though the dose is 0.4ml per day, which sounds as if it might be a bit high? The vet was really helpful, Esme is registered at a different vets to my bunnies so I've been a little nervous but they seem really good, I'm even doing work experience there soon!

O'4ml does seem a lot but maybe the vet has diluted it down a bit for you.

I read it wrong, it's 0.04 not 0.4. Whoops! I just gave her the medication with a little diluted ribena, and she hates me now

She'll only hate you for a little while.

Glad she is feeling better! Maybe an extra treat will make her forget about her meds

Aww thanks! I went out and bought a bag of banana chips for her as apparently those are her favourites. Only she hasn't even touched one. Ah well Pickles liked hers, and I ate quite a few too

Esme's underside is nice and clean now but O/H says she still smells a bit odd (I still can't smell, still have a cold!). Do some hamsters maybe just have an odour? Pickles has always smelt really nice! Although Esme's only a few days through her medication at the moment.

i think it just takes a while until everything is out of the system...i mean infection and antibiotics. thats probably why she still smells a bit different. i am really glad she is doing better...
